The vibrant Nganya industry in Nairobi is in mourning following the sudden death of a popular tout known as MAVELLA/kelvin. His passing reportedly due to road accident near umoja stage, occurred on Friday July 18 2025 the very same day a new and highly anticipated matatu named "MOOD" was officially launched. 

   The tragic timing has sparked considerable discussion across social media platforms.

MAVELLA was well known figure within Nairobi's bustling public transport sector.Particularly associated with matatus renowned for their elaborate art and sound systems, such as "Opposite" -a matatu with theme colours resembling the Canadian flag. 

                            

Kelvin whom was popularly known as Mavella, Canadian Flag Bear,and Canadian boy due to his association with the Opposite matatu.

Opposite matatu "KENYA ONE" won the title in 2022 and 2023 according to matatu Matwana Culture.The matatu is known for plying the umoja route under the Umoinner Sacco.The "Kenya one" award is given to the best 33-seater public service vehicle (PSV) in the country.
