CBC TRANSATION OF GRADE 9 LEARNERS TO SENIOR SCHOOLS

PROCESS OF PLACEMENT  FOR GRADE 9 LEARNERS TRANSITIONING TO SENIOR SCHOOLS 

                                 


 The Kenya Junior Secondary Education Assessment (KJSEA). The following will determine senior school placement

1; 20% from Kenya primary education assessment results from grade 6

2; 20% from school-based assessment in grades 7 & 8

3; 60% from summative evaluation at the end of grade 9 period 

Career pathways

Students will be required to choose among three pathways:
    
1; STEM  ( 60% slots) - Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, { pure applied science technology,,,,,,,πŸ‘ˆ

2; ARTS & SPORTS SCIENCE (15% slots) - creative arts, performance, athletics, music, drama, or sports,track, performing Arts, sports, visual arts
3; Social sciences ( 25% slots) - humanities, business studies, and language & literature's  best for learners interested in law, education, or entrepreneurship

                    SCHOOL SELECTION

LEARNERS WILL  LIST 12 SCHOOLS ACROSS THEIR TOP THREE PATHWAYS
FIRST -CHOICE PATHWAY - 7 SCHOOLS

SECOND -CHOICE PATHWAY- 3 SCHOOLS

THIRD - CHOICE PATHWAY- 2 SCHOOLS 

PLACEMENT CONSIDERATIONS.

System prioritizes;
  1. Merits: KJSEA performance determines placement priority
  2. Learner choice;  preferences are respected within capacity limits.
  3. The system ensures regional balance and equality between public/ private schools. 
  4. Diversity; limits learners from the same junior school in one boarding school
